"The work of the Believer"
Jesus has given us the responsibility of ministry.
Luke 9:10-17 ESV 10 On their return the apostles told him all that they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida. 11 When the crowds learned it, they followed him, and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing. 12 Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.” 13 But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.” 14 For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 And they did so, and had them all sit down. 16 And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. 17 And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.

Church online with small group meetups. | A new Church plant growing in the city of Los Angeles, CA | NWLAChurch is aiming to break the barriers of tradition and location. An online presence can make an impact both globally and locally. The idea is not too complicated - have the majority of teaching and preaching material available online and discuss this material in person in smaller groups. We can reach far and wide and then have smaller meetings that allow us to seek the Biblical application and relevance of scripture for our everyday lives.

"We know what you say, but we believer what you do..." Ephesians 4:11-16 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV) .Ephesians 5:22-30 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. (Ephesians 5:22-30 NKJV).

I sat down with Ciera M. who is a Licensed Social Worker in the Los Angeles area. In this first episode we talk about statistics and those with Anxiety. Ciera shares some of her background and what got her in to this field of work. Also, she shares some scary situations that she found herself in. What does Anxiety cover? What does it look like? Is therapy still taboo? What does culture have to do with Mental Health? Ciera also shares her thoughts on Pop culture science - "it was on Instagram; so it must be true" or “my grandma says so!” Her goal is to bring people into an Educated and equipped position vs. an "I heard/saw this on social media so it must be true" position.

Work & Water Sermon Series 1 Corinthians 3:1-9But I, brothers,[a] could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?
5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building..Our mission as the Church is temporary but our result is eternal..nwlachurch.comChurch online with small group meetups. | A new Church plant growing in the city of Los Angeles, CA | NWLAChurch is aiming to break the barriers of tradition and location. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

Watering is a service, a work, a ministry and it can only be done in humility; Watering is an act that requires vision for the future and discipline for the now.

Matthew 22:15-22
Taxes were usually the impetus or movement that caused revolutions. Specifically NOT paying taxes. Make no mistake about this - it was a politically motivated position the Pharisees were trying to trap Jesus in.
•
The context of this particular situation is important. Context is always important when it comes to scripture. However, the basis for the confrontation from the Pharisees was much more than addressing the position Jesus held on paying taxes.
•
The Herodians and the Pharisees disagreed on a lot of stuff. The one thing that united them was their opposition of Jesus. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” Their common goal was to get rid of Jesus.

Matthew 22:15-22 ESV
15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words. 16 And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone's opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.[b] 17 Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” 18 But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? 19 Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius.[c] 20 And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” 21 They said, “Caesar's.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” 22 When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.

NWLAChurch | The Son - Miracle of Prayer
Monday Jul 27, 2020
Monday Jul 27, 2020
Let’s examine some scriptures for a couple reasons we can see the fruit of Christ and we can see how important prayer was in the midst of all of the miracles. - The Disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray; not heal, not feed, not love, not how to make money appear, not to prophesy . They asked Jesus how to pray.•Luke 11:1Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”•#nwlachurch #newwavela #pray #prayer #Jesus #gospel #bible#church #churchonline #onlinechurch #holyspirit #spiritfilled
